The Certificate in Business Communication is a non-credit, professional development course awarded to students who successfully complete all five courses. The 20-week program will introduce students to several skill areas that will equip them with theoretical and practical knowledge to succeed in the workforce.
The highlight of this program is the Project Management course, which students will take over the 20-week duration. Learners will identify a social or community project, research, implement, and monitor to a successful completion. Students are expected to draw on skills taught during their study to evaluate the project and present findings for a final grade.
The final part of the Certificate in Business Communication involves a one-week Career Development course where students will review resume and cover letter writing, as well as tips for interviewing successfully.
This program will be delivered in two modules. Students may register for either module but must complete all five courses within a twelve-month period for the certificate to be awarded.
- Module One: English for Business & Project Management
- Module Two: Public Speaking & Presentations, Understanding Customer Service, and Career Development
Classes will be mostly asynchronous, meaning students can sign on and study at their own pace. However, the Project Management course will feature 3-4 synchronous classes in which students will be expected to attend and participate in live class activities.
